How SkipDash Works

The Idea

Construction material is heavy, and freight is most of what it costs. The plant three miles from your job site and the plant thirty miles away can quote the same price per ton and land at completely different prices per load. Yet most buyers still source by phoning whoever they used last time, and most producers still wait for that phone to ring.

SkipDash puts both sides on one map. Buyers start from the job site address and see who is actually close to it. Producers and suppliers list each plant once and get found by every buyer working inside their haul range. Searching, saving job sites and sending work orders is free for buyers — producers and suppliers pay for the listing.

For Buyers — Contractors, Excavators, Paving Crews & Public Works

Start with the job site, not with a supplier. Enter the address, city or ZIP where the material has to land and choose a radius between five and fifty miles. The map centers on that point and shows every listed facility inside the ring, with the distance from your site.

Narrow the results to what you actually need. Filter by industry and by facility type — ready-mix concrete, asphalt, crushed stone, sand and gravel, soil, or trucking — so you are only looking at plants that carry your material.

Open a facility to see the detail: the products and services it offers, dump pricing where the facility publishes it, hours of operation, phone number, and one-tap driving directions from the job site. You do not need an account to look — the listings are public.

When you have picked a plant, send the work order from the same page. One form covers the job site address, the closest major intersection, the material and quantity, and the dates you need it. Email it straight to the facility or print it for the driver to carry. Every order is the same form regardless of whether you are buying concrete, asphalt, stone or trucking.

Register a free account and your sites become reusable. Set each one up once under My Job Sites — label, address, the exact latitude and longitude when the site sits off the mapped address, and its drawings — and the next load takes seconds instead of starting over. Useful when you are running several sites at once, or ordering to the same site week after week.

For Sellers — Producers, Suppliers & Trucking Companies

Create a company account first. It takes a few minutes and does not require a credit card to begin. From your profile you then add facilities — one entry per plant, pit, quarry, yard or terminal.

Build out each facility so a buyer can decide without calling: address and map location, your logo and a photo, hours, the products you produce, the services you offer, and dump pricing if you accept incoming material. Every facility gets its own public page with a clean address that search engines can index, so it works for you outside SkipDash as well.

Once listed, your plant appears automatically whenever a buyer searches a job site inside your haul range. That is the whole point of the radius search: you are shown at the moment somebody is sourcing for a job near you, rather than in a directory they visit once a year.

Work orders come to you already filled out — by email, or handed over printed by the buyer or driver — with the job site, closest intersection, material, quantity and dates on a single sheet. Less back and forth on the phone, fewer wrong deliveries.
